About me - Heather Thayer-Taylor Photographer and textile artist The passion to create has been with me for as long as I can remember. The Creative Arts Center in Sierra Madre CA was where I developed my creative skills when I was a young girl. I always had a project I was working on whether it was macrame, crochet or needle point. I was on the yearbook team, which included photography, in junior high .That’s where I started my interest in photography, watching the image come to life in the developer was very exciting to me, I was hooked! I received a 35mm Single Lens Reflex camera for my 18th birthday and proceeded with getting a job taking children's photographs on the pony and my interest grew from there. I'm a self-taught professional photographer who has been in the field of photography for 45 years. Photography has evolved over the past 45 years and so have I. Starting off my professional career I photographed weddings and family portraits, shooting a medium format film camera in those days. I started learning photoshop in 1996 and bought my 1st digital camera around the same time. I used it for photographing a well known artist’s distressed looking ship models he had in art
