Welcome to Octopus Soap and more, I`m Andrea and make handmade soaps. Most of my soaps are made by the cold process soap method. Cold process soap making is the traditional method of making soap. Sodium hydroxide lye and oils are combined which causes a chemical reaction called saponification. During this process, the lye and oil molecules combine and chemically change into soap and glycerin. I also superfat my bars, meaning that you get the benefits of extra moisture. This process takes 4-6 weeks to cure in order to give you the best bar possible. My handmade soaps are made with 40% olive oil, 30% shea butter, 25% coconut oil, and 5% castor oil. They are colored with premium, skin-safe mica colorants and titanium dioxide and scented with fragrance oil.
