SalsaRat Art

I have enjoyed art and sewing since I was younger, finding dolls through a friend who works at the renaissance festival. I primarily make dragons, because they were always a favorite in art and literature growing up. My idea for these dragons came from the Dragonrider's of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey. Each rider didn't know what color dragon would emerge from the eggs, until after they hatched. I loved the idea of making dragons, in their eggs, where people would get that surprise. . I began painting about three years ago in support of a friend, and a wonderful visual artist in her own right, encouraged me to try it out and began teaching me techniques. It was painting that really opened up my interest in trying new things and I have found a love of felting, diamond painting, and recently started trying out Amigurumi. I've always done art, seeing something and wondering about trying something different I usually would make the pieces I had in mind before moving on, it was a dance instructor who made the time to say he loved my work and ask why I wasn't looking at it as something I can expand into selling.
