Hello there, thanks for visiting Wooden Roots! I am part time woodworker with many years of experience working with hardwoods and softwoods. I take great pride in sourcing my lumber from local lumberyards and using sustainable practices. This includes reducing waste, reusing sawdust for compost/gardening, and donating cutoffs to local high schools for their woodworking shops. I am the father of 2 children with special needs, who also help with my projects. This includes laying out boards to help match patterns and assisting glue ups. I am a firm believer that working with your hands and building something beautiful can increase self-confidence, while also providing patience and discipline. These are morals and life lessons that are very important for all children, especially those with special needs. I work in a small shop in my garage and hand make all of my items. I purchase my wood rough and mill it to the specifications of my projects. This allows me to match grain patterns and colors much more affectively. All of my products are hand finished. I do not use any stains and focus primarily on exposing the natural beauty of different colors and grain patterns.
