About the Michaels Rewards Program


What is the Michaels Rewards program?

  • The Michaels Rewards program is our way of thanking our loyal customers for choosing Michaels. As a member, you’ll earn every time you shop and on select product and exclusive offers.

Why join the Michaels Rewards program?

  • Because now it pays to shop at Michaels. Now, members will earn 3% in Rewards on eligible purchases every time they shop. Qualifying members will earn 6% in Rewards if they have spent $300+ in eligible purchases in the past 12 months, or 9% in Rewards with $1,000+ in eligible purchases in the past 12 months.
  • We will also continue to provide you with receipt-free returns (you only need your Rewards phone number/email), a special birthday perk and other special limited-time offers based on your tier.

What are the Rewards benefits?

As a member, you’ll earn Rewards based on certain product purchases or shopping activity:

  • Earn Every Time You Shop: Members will earn 3% in Rewards on eligible purchases every time they shop Qualifying members will earn 6% in Rewards if they have spent $300+ in eligible purchases in the past 12 months, or 9% in Rewards with $1,000+ in eligible purchases in the past 12 months.
  • Rewards Specials: Periodically we will have Rewards Specials on select products throughout the store. We will communicate these offers through Weekly Rewards emails and here.
  • Bonus Rewards: In the Weekly Rewards email, you may even find personalized exclusive offers. Depending on the offer, you may need to meet the offer criteria to earn Rewards. These will be personalized to you and will not be shareable.
  • Limited-time promotional offers: throughout the program there may be opportunities to earn additional Rewards with promotional offers.


Does it cost anything to join Michaels Rewards?

  • There is no fee for membership.


What do I need to do to enjoy all the benefits of the Michaels Rewards program?

  • Just sign up, using your preferred email address and cell phone number.
  • To enjoy all the benefits of the program, you must have an online account on michaels.com with your loyalty ID linked to it. Also, you must be opted in to receive promotional emails and promotional texts. Rewards offers will be communicated via email and Rewards vouchers will be communicated via email and/or text. If you opt out of emails, you will continue to receive emails regarding your Rewards account balance, Reward vouchers earned and status reminders, but you will not receive emails communicating Rewards offers. Who is eligible to participate in U.S. Michaels Rewards?

  • Michaels Rewards program membership is open to individuals at least 18 years of age who are residents of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, and who maintain a valid email address and phone number.


What happens if I need to make a return?

  • No worries. Receipt-free returns make it easy. By providing your Rewards phone number at checkout and when you make a return, our Team Members will be able to look up your purchase and return items without the need for a receipt.
  • If you are making a return and have already earned Rewards for the purchase, those Rewards will be deducted from your Rewards account. This could display in a negative balance on your Rewards account.


How do I get my Rewards back after making a return?

If you used a Rewards voucher on your original purchase, and need to make a return, your Rewards will be issued:

  • Back to the same original voucher within 48 hours, if the original voucher has not passed its expiration date.
  • In Rewards, if the original voucher has passed its expiration date. These Rewards will be added to your Rewards balance. Once your Rewards balance reaches $5, a Rewards voucher will be issued within 48 hours.


What if my order was canceled?

  • If your online order was canceled, Rewards will be issued back to your account within 48 hours, if the original voucher has not passed its expiration date.
  • If the original voucher has passed its expiration date, the Rewards will be added to your Rewards balance.


Enrolling

How do I enroll and become a member?

  • Sign up with your email address and phone number in store at the register, online at michaels.com/rewards or in the Michaels app. For quick access to offers and earned Rewards, we suggest that if you create a Rewards account in store, you later link it online or through the app!


What information is needed to enroll?

  • Besides your email address and cell phone number, we ask that you provide your first and last names and birthdate when creating your online profile here. While birthdate isn’t required, if we do not have it on file, you’ll miss out on your Birthday Bonus.


Why do I have to give you my phone number to enroll?

  • We only use your phone number for enrollment and to look up your account in store to ensure you earn Rewards on every eligible purchase. You will not be sent any text messages unless you opt in for promotional or Rewards voucher reminder messaging. For more details, please see our Privacy Policy page here.


Earning Rewards


How do I get Rewarded?

You’ll be eligible to earn Rewards, on the following:

  • All members will earn 3% in Rewards on eligible purchases every time they shop. Qualifying members will earn 6% in Rewards if they have spent $300+ in eligible purchases in the past 12 months, or 9% in Rewards with $1,000+ in eligible purchases in the past 12 months1.
  • Rewards Specials are special offers related to featured products promoted on a weekly basis. These offers can be found here, or on the Michaels app.
  • Bonus Rewards are personalized offers based on how you shop. These can be found in your Weekly Rewards email or on your Rewards account profile page here.
  • Limited-time offers will have specific rules based on that offer.


When will I start earning 3%, 6% or 9% in Rewards?

  • All members will be enrolled into the Red Tier and eligible to earn 3% in Rewards on eligible purchases every time they shop.
  • To become eligible to earn 6% in Rewards, Gold Tier members must have spent at least $300 in eligible purchases over the past 12 months. Qualification for 6% eligibility will be updated once a month and reflected in the member’s account.
  • To become eligible to earn 9% in Rewards, Platinum Tier members must have spent at least $1,000 in eligible purchases over the past 12 months. Qualification for 9% eligibility will be updated once a month and reflected in the member’s account.
  • Once meeting the eligibility qualification, members will continue to earn at 6% or 9% on eligible purchases until January of the following calendar year. At that time, eligible purchases over the prior 12 months will be re-assessed to determine the earning amount for each member.


When will my Rewards show up in my Rewards account?

  • Rewards earned will show up in Rewards member’s account up to 48 hours after the eligible purchase or date of order placement for online orders.


What defines an eligible purchase and what are the exclusions?

Regular and promotional priced items purchased in Michaels U.S. stores or online at michaels.com or michaelscustomframing.com are eligible to earn Rewards with these exceptions:


How will I find out about upcoming offers to earn Rewards?

These offers will be shared:

  • through weekly Rewards emails
  • online in your Michaels Rewards account
  • in the Rewards section of your Michaels app


How do I ensure I get credit for my earned Rewards?

In store:

  • With an eligible Rewards purchase, provide your Rewards phone number, email address or scan the Rewards barcode from the Michaels app. You can use only one membership account per transaction.

Online/App:

  • Make sure you have created an account on michaels.com, linked it to your Rewards profile and are logged in before checking out.
  • Rewards earned will show up in Rewards member’s account up to 48 hours after the eligible purchase or date of order placement for online orders. Rewards vouchers are issued within 72 hours once you reach your $5 threshold.


How much can I earn in Rewards per day?

  • The maximum Rewards you can earn per day are limited to $150. Specific Michaels Rewards offers may include other caps on the total you may earn per transaction or day. We also reserve the right to cap overall annual Rewards accumulation.


Redeeming Rewards Vouchers


When will I get the Rewards vouchers I’ve earned?

  • Your Rewards vouchers will be automatically emailed to your Rewards member email address once your Rewards balance reaches $5 in Rewards or increments of $5. Rewards vouchers are issued within 72 hours once you reach $5 threshold. These vouchers, when issued, can also be found in your online or app account. Some restrictions and delays may apply.
  • Rewards voucher amount will be in increments of $5 and will not exceed $150.


How do I spend my Rewards voucher?

In store:

  • Provide your Rewards account information and the voucher barcode to a Team Member at checkout, or scan voucher barcode on self checkout machines. Limit five vouchers per in-store purchase.

Online:

  • To redeem online, sign into your Michaels account and ensure it is linked to your Rewards account. Access available vouchers on your Savings landing page or in the "Cart", click "APPLY" to any eligible voucher and it will be automatically added to the subtotal of your purchase. Limit five vouchers per online purchase.

Please note, vouchers do not apply towards tax or shipping costs.


How do I know if my Rewards voucher has already been used?

  • Once your Rewards voucher has been used, the voucher will be removed from your online Rewards account. If you have a remaining balance on your Rewards voucher, that will be updated once the redeemed amount has been removed.


What defines an eligible redemption of my voucher and what are the exclusions?

  • Rewards vouchers can be used on eligible products purchased in Michaels U.S. stores or online at michaels.com or michaelscustomframing.com
  • Vouchers cannot be used for Michaels Photo Gifts or Minted purchases.
  • Vouchers cannot be redeemed on items sold and shipped by third-party sellers on MakerPlace by Michaels.
  • Vouchers cannot be redeemed on the purchase of gift cards & extended warranties.
  • Vouchers cannot be used on tax or shipping costs.
  • You may be notified of additional ineligible products and services.
  • Lost, stolen or expired Rewards vouchers will not be replaced.
  • Rewards vouchers have no cash value and are not redeemable for cash.
  • You must be in good standing in the program at the time of Rewards voucher redemption.


What do I need when redeeming a Rewards voucher?

  • When redeeming your voucher, you must provide your Rewards account information along with the voucher barcode/number.


Can I use coupons/discounts with my Rewards voucher?

  • Yes. Rewards vouchers can be combined with any eligible coupon or discount. The coupon/discount amount will be taken off the purchase first and then the voucher amount will be applied.


When do my Rewards and my Rewards voucher expire?

  • Vouchers are valid for 32 days from date of issue and expire at 11:59pm CST on the 32nd day. Prior to the voucher’s expiration date, you’ll be able to use your vouchers in multiple transactions until the balance is depleted. For example, if you use a $5 Rewards voucher for a $3 purchase, the remaining $2 will stay on the Rewards voucher until you deplete it on a subsequent purchase(s), but for no longer than 32 days from the date of issuance.
  • Should your account balance fail to reach the $5 threshold for 12 consecutive months, the Rewards in your account balance will expire. For example, if you have $3 in Rewards earned in September of this year, and your Rewards are not converted into a voucher for 12 months, the Rewards will expire and be removed from your account the following year in September.


Managing My Rewards Account


When will I see my Rewards balance update with eligible purchases?

  • Rewards will typically post to your account within 48 hours after the eligible purchase, or date of order placement for online orders.


How do I check my Rewards balance?

  • You can check your Rewards balance online here, on the Michaels app or through the dashboard at the top of most Michaels emails.


Can I share a Rewards account with a family member or friend?

  • Michaels will assign a Rewards account to each member who provides a unique phone number and email address combination. Rewards accounts are for an individual and should not be shared.


What if I am not receiving my Michaels Rewards emails?

  • First, check your spam or Promotions folder within your email.
  • If you still can’t find your Michaels Rewards emails, please ensure you are opted in and visit our Contact us page here.


What if I want to update my Rewards profile information?

  • The first step is to log into your online michaels.com account and ensure you have linked it to your Michaels Rewards account created in one of our stores. Then, you can edit the information on your My Rewards Profile page here. If you are not able to log in, please visit our Contact us page here.
  • Note, updating your Rewards information does not update your Michaels sign in account. You can make those updates here.


How do I add a recent purchase if the transaction didn’t go toward my Rewards account?

  • Rewards will typically post to your account within 48 hours after the eligible purchase, or date of order placement for online orders.
  • If a recent purchase does not appear within that time frame or you forget to use your Rewards account, you have 14 days after the date of purchase to add that transaction. You can do that by logging in here and adding the transaction or visit our Contact us page here and request that it be added. You must have a Rewards account prior to the date of purchase to request that Rewards be added to your account.


I forgot my password. What do I do?

  • During the sign-in process, click the Forgot your password? link. You will be prompted to enter your email address. Click "Send". Then, a new password will be sent to the email address associated with your online account.


How do I get my free tote as a Platinum member?

  • Head to your local store and show a Team Member the barcode sent in your “Welcome to Platinum Rewards email” so they can scan it to claim your one-time free exclusive gift.


How do I access my Everyday VIP Discount?

  • Members must have an online account with your loyalty ID linked to it to access and use this offer. Once logged in, navigate to the Savings landing page to find your respective discount which can be used in-store or online.16


How do I get my Birthday Bonus?

  • Members must have a birthdate on file at least two (2) days prior to your birthday, plus, an online account with your loyalty ID linked to it to access and use this offer. Your Birthday Bonus offer will be added to your Savings page on your Birthday and you’ll have 2 weeks to redeem your offer.19
